The Baltic region is really unique through its intrinsic environment and distinguished geographical and social conditions. The climate of the temperate maritime-transitional belt has formed the mixed coniferous and deciduous stands of high productivity and biological diversity. The forest science has been influenced by the ideas both from the East and West.
